Proofreading

This should be the last step before hitting publish. Once your story is polished, your characters are fully developed, and there are no plot holes to fall in. I go through and make sure those pesky commas and quotation marks are in the right place. And that you didn't type "duck" when you definitely meant... well... you know what you meant. (Typos, misspellings, grammatical errors).

Copy Edit

$0.0045 per word

This is proofreading, elevated. I'll still take care of the commas, the who/whoms, and any other grammatical errors, but I'll also take the content into consideration. Did you give Billy Sue green eyes in chapter 1, but then in chapter 17, they're blue? Unless she's a changeling or shapeshifter, I'll make note. Likewise, I'll address any crutch words, clunky sentence structure, or sentences that just don't make good sense.

Alpha Report

So, you've written a novel. And your mom said it's amazing, but she's biased, can you trust her? Maybe you think it slogs a little in the third act but you're just not sure. Are these characters well rounded and believable? Did that epic showdown at the end really punch like you wanted it to? Let me read it and I'll give you the good, the less good, and the not good at all. But nicely. We'll go over the structure and pacing, the plot, the characters, and any other concerns.

Reader Report

This isn't as in depth as the alpha report, but will still give you a general overview of the strengths and weaknesses of your book, as well as readability. A beta read, but from an overachieving English major.
